TURKISH FLAG IS ON THE WHITE LIST
Our maritime sector, which has a very important function in terms of developing our foreign trade, opening our economy to the world economy, and realizing our other economic goals, continues to develop rapidly.
As a result of the effective and intensive Inspection and training, Turkish flagged ships were transferred from the Black List to the Gray List in 2006 and to the "White List" in 2008 during the Paris Memorandum Port State inspections. Our country has risen to the 3rd rank in yacht building and 6th rank in shipbuilding.
Surrounded by seas on three sides, our country has almost rediscovered maritime, and since 2002, more than 100 thousand people have been given amateur sailor certificates. Our Turkish-owned fleet is now in the 15th place in the world ranking. The number of active shipyards, which was 37 in 2002, increased to 78. Many investments in the sector have been made or are planned to be made together with the private sector.
